[영상뉴스] T1, 중 TES 꺾고 EWC 초대 우승

 한국의 유명한 e스포츠 팀 T1이 최근 열린 e스포츠 월드컵에서 중국의 TES를 꺾고 초대 우승팀으로 등극했다. 

T1은 리그 오브 레전드(LoL) 종목 결승전에서 탁월한 활약을 보여주며, 40만 달러(약 5억 5,000만 원)의 1등 상금을 차지했다. 

T1은 글로벌 e스포츠 기업인 T1 Entertainment & Sports가 운영하는 팀으로, SK텔레콤과 Comcast Spectacor의 합작 투자로 설립되었다. 

원래 SK텔레콤 T1(SKT T1)이라는 이름으로 잘 알려져 있었으며, 2019년 10월 T1으로 브랜드를 재탄생시켰다.

T1은 리그 오브 레전드 외에도 Dota 2, Valorant, Super Smash Bros., Overwatch Contenders 등 여러 게임에서 활약하고 있다. 

이번 월드컵 결승전에서 T1은 초반 선취점을 내주며 불안한 출발을 했지만, 경기 25분경 TES 5인 모두 잡아내며 넥서스를 함락시키며 동점으로 만들었다. 

강력한 경기력으로 TES를 3-1로 완파하며 우승을 거머쥐었다. T1의 페이커는 팀의 승리에 크게 기여해 MVP로 선정되었다. 이 승리는 T1가 7년 만에 거둔 월드 챔피언십 타이틀로, 팀의 역사에 큰 이정표가 되었다. 

T1은 리그 오브 레전드 챔피언스 코리아(LCK)에서 10번의 우승을 차지한 바 있으며, 국제 대회에서도 꾸준히 좋은 성적을 거두고 있다. 

2022년에는 LCK에서 무패 기록을 세우며 강력한 실력을 입증했고, 2023년 월드 챔피언십에서 네 번째 우승을 차지하며 세계 최고의 팀으로 자리매김했다. T1의 성공은 단순히 게임 내 실력에만 국한되지 않는다. 

'T1 Entertainment & Sports'는 팬들과의 소통을 중요시하며, 다양한 콘텐츠와 이벤트를 통해 팬들에게 더욱 가까이 다가가고 있다.

T1 Defeats TES to Win Inaugural EWC Championship.

The renowned South Korean eSports team T1 has emerged as the inaugural champions of the eSports World Cup (EWC) by defeating TES in the finals. 

T1 showcased exceptional performance in the League of Legends (LoL) final, securing the first-place prize of $400,000 (approximately 550 million KRW). 

T1 is operated by the global eSports enterprise T1 Entertainment & Sports, which was established through a joint investment by SK Telecom and Comcast Spectacor. 

Formerly known as SK Telecom T1 (SKT T1), the team was rebranded to T1 in October 2019. 

In addition to League of Legends, T1 competes in multiple games, including Dota 2, Valorant, Super Smash Bros., and Overwatch Contenders. 

During the World Cup finals, T1 had a shaky start by conceding the first point but managed to equalize the score by taking down all five members of TES around the 25-minute mark and destroying their nexus.

With a dominant performance, T1 defeated TES 3-1 to claim the championship. 

T1's Faker made a significant contribution to the team's victory and was named the MVP. 

This victory marks T1's first World Championship title in seven years, serving as a major milestone in the team's history. 

T1 has won the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) ten times and consistently achieved strong results in international competitions. 

In 2022, they demonstrated their prowess by achieving an undefeated record in the LCK, and in 2023, they cemented their status as the world's best team by winning their fourth World Championship. 

T1's success extends beyond in-game skills. 

T1 Entertainment & Sports places great importance on fan engagement, reaching out to fans through various content and events, thus becoming more than just an eSports team, but a cultural icon. 

This recent victory symbolizes T1's continuous growth and ambition, raising expectations for their future endeavors.
