Eating and Enjoying: A Five Sense Festival

The Sweet Romantic Night Market, which opened last April at Gumi Saemaeul Central Market, along with night markets at Indong Market and Indong Rodeo Street?where the athletes' village is located?will be open daily during the competition period from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

For the 2025 Gumi Asian Athletics Championships, Gumi has prepared a variety of food festivals, offering a feast for the senses and plenty of entertainment.

The 2025 Asian Food Festa will be held throughout the event period in the parking lot of the Gumi Complex Sport Center, located beneath the main stadium, Gumi Civic Stadium. Visitors will be able to enjoy, all in one place, representative dishes from five Asian countries China, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Turkey as well as a variety of menus from Gumi's local eateries. A total of 32 booths will be operated, including a 'Local Restaurants Zone' with direct participation by local vendors, a 'Food Truck Zone' selling convenient street foods, and a 'G-Food Market Zone' featuring Gumi's representative food companies.

Local food companies will also take part, including the webfoot octopus specialty brand 'Nang Man Laboratory', the macaron shop 'ET Dang Charging Station', and 'Insadong Rice Cake House', known for handmade rice cakes. There will also be tasting booths for craft beer from 'Gumidanggim' and Gumi's signature bread, 'Bakeumi'. In addition, diverse content will be available for people of all ages to enjoy, such as magic shows, puppet theater, busking performances, and an 'Squid Game Season 2' experience zone. A comfortable dining area will also be set up to allow visitors to eat and enjoy the events simultaneously.

At the athlete village area in Indong-dong, specifically at Indong Market and Indong Rodeo Street, the 'Gumi Sweet Romantic Night Market' will be held every evening during the Championships, from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM.

A total of 21 teams will participate, offering street food from Gumi's most renowned eateries. The night market will also feature flea markets, interactive booths, and street performances. A variety of performances will be presented, including classical music and busking.

All around the night market, LED sculptures and a giant full moon photo zone will be installed, creating an even more special night atmosphere.

먹고 즐기는 오감축제…푸드 페스타와 야시장

2025 구미 아시아 육상경기선수권대회 기간 구미시는 다채로운 먹거리 축제로 풍성한 볼거리와 즐길 거리를 준비했다.

대회 주 경기장인 구미시민운동장 아래 구미 복합스포츠센터 주차장에서는 대회 기간 '2025 아시안 푸드 페스타'가 열린다. 중국, 일본, 태국, 베트남, 터키 등 아시아 5개국의 대표 음식은 물론, 구미 로컬 맛집이 선보이는 다양한 메뉴를 한자리에서 즐길 수 있다. 총 32개 부스로 지역 상인이 직접 참여하는 '로컬맛집존'과 간편한 길거리 음식을 판매하는 '푸드트럭존', 구미 대표 식품기업이 참여하는 'G-푸드마켓존'이 각각 운영된다.

주꾸미 전문 브랜드 '낭만 연구소', 마카롱을 선보이는 '이티당충전소', 수제 떡으로 알려진 '인사동 떡집' 등 지역 식품기업들도 참여하고 '구미당김' 수제 맥주와 구미빵 '베이쿠미'를 맛볼 수 있는 시식 공간도 마련된다. 이외에도 마술쇼, 인형극, 버스킹 공연, '오징어 게임 시즌2'체험존 등 남녀노소 모두가 즐길 수 있는 콘텐츠가 다양하게 구성되며, 쾌적한 식사 공간도 따로 마련돼 관람과 식사가 동시에 가능하도록 배려했다.

선수촌이 있는 인동동 일대 인동시장과 인동 로데오거리에서는 '구미 달달한 낭만 야시장'이 대회 기간 매일 오후 6시 30분부터 밤 10시 30분까지 운영된다.

총 21개 팀이 참여하는 구미 대표 맛집들의 길거리 음식은 물론, 프리마켓과 체험 부스, 거리 공연이 야시장을 풍성하게 채운다. 클래식 연주와 버스킹, 번개 경매 등 다양한 장르의 공연도 이어진다.

야시장 곳곳에는 LED 조형물과 대형 보름달 포토존이 설치돼 밤 풍경을 더욱 특별하게 만든다. 박용기기자 ygpark@yeongnam.com
